29.11.2011 Honour Your Parents

Ephesians 6:2

The Message (MSG)

1-3 Children, do what your parents tell you. This is only right. "Honor your father and mother" is the first commandment that has a promise attached to it, namely, "so you will live well and have a long life."

Honouring my parents is important in lives. These few days, I've got the opportunity to talk to my parents. Maybe it's due to the decrease in people patronizing neighbourhood places to shop, thus having more time to accompany us. I don't know if it is a good thing, because I do want my father business to thrive, and have at least more income in the family. Anyway, I've been heartened to know that my father is much more open to the gospel now. Something to rejoice over! Hopefully, he would be open enough to come to one or two service. It would be great! #Keepinginprayers!

28.11.2011 Just Do What's Right.

Philippians 2:12-18

12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

14 Do everything without grumbling or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.
[a] Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky 16 as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.

17 But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. 18 So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.

Doing what's right & not following the mass culture is important in times like this. What we see everyday, what young people do nowadays, & what they say reflects what kind of society we will have in the future. You might say, it's not that bad,... and all the 'buts'. But, No. We have reached a point where it is easy to say that everyone's else doing it, why not me... or it gives me pleasure, I guard my own life. In all these things, it's not a matter of ourselves but God. It's true that we ourselves lost spiritual self when we do all these immoral  behaviour and think nothing of it. In fact, part of ourselves are already being consumed away. We should not follow what the world tells us because they are in fact wrong. Distorted facts has been disguised into nice, wholesome gratification. It feeds our society, a generation after the fast life, where worldly possessions feed our appetite. We need to differentiate between what is right and what is wrong. Sometimes, it can be separated by a thin fine line. When all these seemed blur and confusing, we need to return to the bible.

Living Out God's Word:
To live based on what the bible says, and not follow the footsteps of the world. Even there are many wrong influences around me, I believe I would stand by God's word, uphold his righteousness.

28.11.2011 Oh Happy Day!

One of the happier moments in my life is about me spending time with my family! Even though most of the time, I struggle with the fact that we didn't have a very strong family foundation because of my parents work nature and etc... but when you grow up and you get to go out as a family... it's actually very heartwarming. Most of all, your parents pay for your expenses! :)

27.11.2011 "Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart."

de·light
1. a high degree of pleasure or enjoyment; joy; rapture
2. something that gives great pleasure verb (used with object
3. to give great pleasure, satisfaction, or enjoyment to

I have recently been struggling about my troubles regarding examinations too much. This is unhealthy and distressing personally. Today sermon has struck a chord in my heart, regarding fear. What fears do I have constantly regarding my life, and relating it to the level of trust I have in Him. The fear we have, is measured by how intimate we are with God. Well, if we are intimate in our relationship with God, there should be zero fear. If that is the case, do I possess what it takes to trust God fully?

In the sermon, #1 Fret Not because God is God. Did He not save Daniel’s friends from the furnace? (Daniel 3:16-18) While reading that passage, it disheartens myself to see how much and how little faith I have in God, even regarding such a small examinations in life. To remember that this life on earth is so temporary, we have an eternal life ahead, to fulfil.

#2 Fear Not because God is Good. Has God fail us in any circumstances? I would say yes, but the future is more promising than today’s failure. God called upon us to fail, because He has something else greater for us. If He is in control, why should we worry? We should not even worry a single bit because he has every single steps & mind of ours in place. (:

Living Out the Words: For me to delight in the Lord, I believe it is about me, living out each and every day with Him in mind. Every single thing I do, needs to be delightful and pleasing in the God’s eyes. He should be pleased with what I do. And God is a God that is great, He gives us the desires of our heart. He loves us more than what we can expect. When we live in obedience, He gives us. He is a promising God. From today, I will live my life by truly living out God’s purpose. Be delightful each and everyday! Consider Him in every thing we do.
